Umbrellas in the Typhoon
There are no raincoats in Tokyo. As the unseasonably early Typhoon Number 7 descends on us, the populace is armed with an arsenal of umbrellas. From a birds eye view, the streets must look like a swarm of giant round beetles in bright colours. As the winds begin to thrash the city, everyone points their umbrella defiantly into the wind and marches on down the streets. It's 3pm, and we're all leaving work early to wait out the storm at home.
